The Review
This is one of those good anime shows that slide under the radar. It's not as popular as it probably should be, and because of that it's not as long as it should have been. Before I get into details about the show there's a few things you need to keep in mind. One, the show takes place in Brazil. This alone makes it stand out from the rest. Second, though it was cancelled at episode 22 (just two episodes shy of a full season), the creators took the time and effort to attempt to give it an ending, so that it didn't just end in a cliff hanger. The ending is rushed, but at least it's there. I respect the team who tried their best with what little time and funding that they were given.
The anime has a great soundtrack. From start to finish they used music that either is or has a hint of Brazilian sound to it. This helps with the setting of the show as well. Which, was nicely drawn to make you really feel like they were in Brazil and not Japan.
Poor Hana. She lived such a terrible and lonely life. Michiko busting into her life (literally) is probably the best thing that ever happen to her. Even though it only brought chaos, excitement, and adventure. Which sounds good to me, but all she wanted was a quiet, normal life. Then again, what is normal?
So, through the chaos and adventure that leads them across the country, the two learn to get along. It's a pretty touching story, that shows two people of opposite personalities can learn to get along.
