Original Opinion
I can't say I had that much of an opinion on this. It was an RPG based off an anime and fairly cheap. I decided to buy it just to see if it was any good. I remember not having very high hopes for it. Oh, and it came with a card.
Graphics
There actually not that bad. It's all anime liked with over 30 minutes of exclusive anime footage. The in game graphics are still anime like. Character models look a bit weird, but not as bad as I thought they would. The scenery is excellent. Better then most games I've played.
Sound & Music
All the characters have voices which are the same as the ones in the anime show. English dubbed of course. It's one of the few shows that have a decent dubbing and so I didn't mind hearing them in the game. I like it when they keep the same voice actors for different media. I however don't remember anything about the music. It must have not been very impressive.
Storyline
At the beginning of the game you choose between a male or female. Each character is created by Rumiko Takahashi especially for the game. It doesn't really matter which one you choose. I think they actually know each other, but I don't really remember. Anyway, you get sent back in time and interact with the characters. Trying to find your way back while also trying to help solve the secret behind the cursed mask. It's not that bad of a storyline. I'm pretty sure it was targeting females. I wouldn't say it was the best, but for this type of game, it was playable and at times entertaining.
Battle System
Terrible. If I remember correctly it's a basic turn based system. However, it's missing random things. I can't even really remember all the problems I had with it, but I do remember wishing it was different. Maybe it was really slow or something. It's really the only flaw I had with the game and it's not even THAT bad now that I'm starting to remember some of it.
Final Opinion
My final opinion on this game is a bit warped. I did play this game almost a year ago, but I still manage to remember enough to do the review. Can't remember all the details though and I apologies for that. However, I do remember the game not being that bad for being based off of the anime. I know a lot of anime shows end up being on other media, but this was like an American game. Like those really terrible games based off of blockbuster movies. Thankfully, the game was done decently and you can really tell the team that worked on it were huge fans of the anime. It just felt like it respected the fans of the series. I was pretty impressed and I would suggest this for anyone who enjoyed watching the show.
