The Review
I like it when an anime doesn't show any main characters in the intro until after they've been introduced. This prevents any unnecessary spoiling and gives the viewer something slightly different to watch.
Rio is a pretty interesting lady. She's seen as the Goddess of Luck, but really is just good at what she does. As she gathers the 13 Gates, she encounters bad luck for the first time. This allows for character development and gives a bit of excitement to the viewer.
The one thing this anime did that I disliked was making everyone, other than Rio, into a comical relief character. It was like once their job was done, they had no other role other than turn into something that provided cheap laughs.
Another issue I have with this anime, as well as others, is that the ending is never really the end. For example, in this anime the last episode introduced two new characters who could very well be villains. However, there is no second season announcement nor is there any other media that might continue the story. I've seen this done quite a few times and it's always frustrating.
The ending theme song was annoying. Viewing it once was enough for me. It kinda reminded me of this Japanese McRoll video I once saw on YouTube.
