Plot Summary

Original Opinion
I went through a dragon phase. Anything dragon related, I had to try out. When I heard about this one I had to have it. I saved up money from shoveling driveways and bought it.
Graphics
The graphics are great for it's time. Very dark and gloomy colors that give it a more intense feel when playing. There's a lot of magic spells to caste and I felt the game does a decent job showing them visually.
Music
From what I remember, all of the music is heavy suspense music. Like something was going to happen at any moment. I wouldn't recommend the soundtrack, but the music does work for how dark the storyline is.
Replay Value
There's high replay value to this game. Once you beat it, you can go back and replay any of the missions again. Giving you a chance to pick up weapons you've missed as well as leveling up the weapons you have. You can also unlock alternate endings and new playable characters as you replay through some of the missions. Also, there's shades that pop-up and are insanely hard to defeat, but you get major bonuses for defeating them. However, they don't effect the storyline at all. Just there for the replay value and that's it. If you manage to collect all 50 or so weapons and max them all out, you unlock a new form for your dragon.
Battle System
You pretty much get dropped onto a map with hundreds of enemies. Sometimes as many as a thousand. With the help of your dragon, which you can summon on most maps, you run around slashing up everyone and everything. Each mission has a time limit, so don't focus too much on the random enemies. Go for the leaders of each squad. It's actually really fun and sometimes when I'm angry, I like to load up a mission and run around killing everyone.
No Mini-Games?
Other than collecting all the weapons and unlocking all the alternate endings, there's nothing more to do. As far as I know, there's no mini-games within this game. Besides what I've mentioned already, there's nothing extra for the player to do. However, there's a lot of weapons to collect and maxing them out does take time. Not to mention replaying maps to unlock new paths to alternate endings is well worth replaying the game a few times.
What The....
As you unlock new endings and missions, the storyline gets more and more insane. At one point it'll stop making sense and start creeping you out. It took me by surprised when I first played it and I think it's what makes the game super awesome and different.
Final Opinion
This game is awesome. There's a lot to do, while not having a lot to do. Hopefully, that makes sense to you. Unlike a lot of SquareEnix games, it's not packed with mini-games and side quests, but finding the alternate endings to get the full story is very entertaining and well done. I highly suggest this game for any of you who wanna play a good Action RPG and like a game with a lot of twists in the storyline.
