Original Opinion
I love playing games in real life. All kinds of games. Video games, card games, board games, and even pen & paper games. So, when I found a manga about a game, I decided to check it out. I wasn't too sure how entertaining it would be, since the game itself is more complex then Chess (or so I heard). Figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
Art Style
Normal manga art style for the 90's. Not really anything noticeable that really makes it stand out from the rest. I can't really help, but notice that doing two different color hair on a single character is really popular among manga and anime that deal with games.
Ending?
The ending to this completed manga is so open ended that it pissed me off. It was just getting super interesting and then that was it. I heard rumors that he might pick it back up, but it's been quite a few years and nothing has came out yet. Nothing except more rumors.
Final Opinion
I'll admit that the idea of a manga based around Go, isn't that exciting. However, the story is really well done and you can easily get caught up in it. There's a verity of characters and you can even see the progress of the main character getting stronger throughout the series. I found this manga surprisingly well done and very entertaining. The cut off ending was very disappointing, but should not be used as a reason to not read it. It's very go and I highly recommend it.
