Plot Summary
Set in near future, it tells the story of Ruby, an ordinary girl, who became a treasure hunter after her life is changed dramatically when her father, who was also a treasure hunter, dies. Her objective is to find O-Parts: magical items hidden in ruins which grant people superhuman powers and can only be used by an O.P.T. (O-Part Tactician), Angel, or Devil. She soon meets a mysterious boy named Jio Freed who, due to having a dark, lonely past, seeks to conquer the world. Jio is hostile to her at first, but ends up traveling with Ruby as her bodyguard. When Ruby is attacked by an O.P.T., who claims to be Satan, Jio rushes to her rescue and a battle occurs. Initially they are on the losing side, but Jio releases his true power and is revealed to be not only an O.P.T., but the real Satan. Thus, the two continue to travel together in hopes of unlocking their pasts.

The Review
The art work of this anime may look similar to some of you who read Naruto. It's because the creator is the brother of that manga's creator. They both studied under the same person and therefor share very similar drawings and ideas. Some of the special moves and characters displayed in O-Parts Hunter are very similar, if not the same, as some moves and characters in Naruto. I personally didn't see this as a bad thing. As a fan of both manga series, I thought it was fun to see the similarities.
The manga starts off being all about O-Parts, but as the series progresses things start to change. A thicker plot is revealed and the story's focus shifts to angels and devils. During this time period I was also playing Disgaea, which also deals with Angels and Devils. I tend to go through phases where a lot of the games I'm playing, manga I'm reading, and/or anime I'm watching are all connected in some way. Even though this story itself has Angels and Devils in it, they don't really mean good versus evil. Some Angels were evil and some of the Devils are good.
It's always interesting to see the different ways that manga uses to display unique powers and abilities. In this case they used O-Parts, but in other manga they've used Magic, Devil Fruits, and even Ninja Arts. There's only so many ways to explain the powers and I really enjoy seeing some of the more interesting ways.
The manga itself was really awesome. It covered a lot of interesting things and had some really great fights. However, the ending was pretty disappointing and didn't leave me satisfied. If it wasn't for the ending, I would have rated it higher.
