Plot Summary
When high school student Ageha Yoshina finds a red calling card in an isolated, ringing pay phone, he believes he's merely stumbled upon the game 'Psyren', a curious urban legend. He initially intends to trade information about Psyren to the world's foremost fortune teller for a famous reward, but after his childhood friend Sakurako – who happened to possess one of the cards – disappears, Ageha rushes into the game's dangerous world to find him. Now trapped in a post-apocalyptic landscape and pursued by Psyren's deranged inhabitants, Ageha must fight to survive and unravel this world's mystery before the game takes his life.

Original Opinion
I actually heard from a friend that this manga covered PSI training. Whenever you have PSI abilities mixed with fighting to save the world, you usually get something worth reading, watching, or playing. I was in the mood for PSI abilities and therefor decided to give this one a shot.
Art Work
The manga is really nicely drawn. Nothing unique to mention, other than the fact that the changes between the real world and the game world were really well done. Ruins of areas that once stood were noticeable and the fighting was well detailed.
Time Shifting
As you read the story, you'll eventually notice the time shifts. This is part of the story and is explained in a really understandable way. I also like how events that happen in the past ended up changing the future, but the people who caused the events were the only ones that knew the difference.
Powering Up
In most stories that involve training to power up, you'll going to reach a point where they need to have a huge power increase in a short amount of time. You'll also have to some how show the transcendence from a normal human, to a strong human, and then beyond human. This manga did a really decent job with it. I personally thought it got a little much right at the end, but it was so cool that I really can't complain too much about it.
Final Opinion
So, the manga starts off pretty interesting. The entire game concept was good. It reminded me of the game in Hunter X Hunter. A gamer where you go to another world, that's not really another world, and if you die there, you die in real life. However, this quickly goes far beyond that of just the game and adds so many twists and insane stuff to the story that it gets pretty complex. This complexity makes the manga worth reading. It's complex, yet explained well enough, so the reader doesn't get too confused. The fights are insane and the just keep getting better. I personally love this manga and probably place it as one of my favorites. I highly recommend it and hope that someday they'll do a really well done anime adaption.
