Plot Summary
Yukitaka has just left Tokyo, eager to transfer to Kisaragi High where he's been recruited to play baseball. However, upon entering his new apartment, the boy is met by a man with long blonde hair who claims to be… an alien?! After initially scoffing at the notion, Yukitaka discovers that the alien – Ouji – is for real, has amnesia and, what's worse, now wants to live with him in his apartment. The fact that scientists and mysterious guys in black suits are after Ouji becomes the least of Yukitaka's problems as his new guest turns out to be more than a handful to handle!

The Review
I had read the manga years ago and loved it. When I found out that they were making an anime out of it, I was psyched.
The intro theme song isn't anything to brag about. I actually think this is the first anime series I've seen where I preferred the ending theme over the intro. It's diffidently something that doesn't happen often.
When I read a manga and then later watch the anime, I try really hard to keep an open mind. It sometimes proves difficult, even more so if you loved the manga. However, I understand that somethings need to be altered for the anime and some things need to be added to make the show last long enough. Level E surprised me though. It actually followed the manga quite closely. From what I recall, I don't think the anime misses anything nor does it add anything. This is quite rare to see and made me very happy.
You really start to feel sorry for all the characters. Watching it in animation form really shows how pissed off Ouji makes everyone. I don't really blame them. He does go out of his way to make everyone's life a pain just for his own entertainment. Though it does make the anime that much more comical.
Though both the anime and manga are very short, they end in such a way where you know everything is going to work out one way or another. Ouji spends the entire story outsmarting people with his mischief, but the last arc really puts his insane genius thinking to the test. It's hard to imagine that there's a chance he could be outsmarted.
